Who We Are

Our Mission

“To inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens through dedicated staff and innovative programs, provided in a safe environment.”

With a focus on three core areas of youth development, the Club provides educational, social, recreational and cultural programming for youth ages 7-18.

We provide kids and teens from ages 7 to 18  with a safe haven and consistent, positive adult role models to help them develop life plans that allow them to break the cycle of poverty. A total of 95 percent of the youth we serve are considered low-income by federal standards with 74 percent considered extremely low income. Most of these young people live in unsafe neighborhoods, some have transient housing and many are exposed to risky choices on a daily basis. They know that even if they move around Lowell, if they switch schools, they still have their “Club family” of mentors to come back to. A total of 58 percent of members tell us that they feel safer here at the Club than anywhere else.  Many would go hungry at night without our Healthy Meals program. We keep our membership fees low  and grant many scholarships as no child is turned away due to family need.
