Our Mission

To inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

At the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell

  • All young people ages 8-18 are welcome, our members represent diverse socio-economic and ethic backgrounds.
  • We seek to provide a safe environment that meets our members’ basic needs as well as supports their growth and education.
  • Membership fees are kept low at just $30 per year ($5 for teens) and many scholarships are granted to ensure access to all youth who can benefit from Club services.
  • A wide variety of engaging program options empower youth to reach their full potential and become the adults they want to be.
  • Our Club values of Teamwork, Commitment, Excellence, Integrity, and Fun are infused in all aspects of our programming and operations.

With the support of our community, youth in Lowell find within the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell the safe haven, adult role models, and opportunities they need to build bright futures and break the cycle of poverty.

Strategic Plan

In the spring of 2023, the Board of Directors and staff of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell participated in a two day retreat facilitated by representatives from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to outline a strategic plan that would guide the organization for the next four years. The result is a bold, forward thinking strategy designed to increase the impact the Boys & Girls Club will have on the Greater Lowell community.

Funding

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell removes barrier to access of it’s programs and services through a low annual membership fee of $30 per member, $5 annually for teens. This fee includes all programs, services, field trips and meals. In the summer, an additional weekly fee of $30 covers a full day program and two meals.

The difference between to cost to provide services and the annual fee comes through a variety of sources. In a typical year, about 50% of the funds needed to operate the Boys & Girls Club comes from individuals and local businesses, 18% from private foundations, 27% from local and state government, and 3% from United Way and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell’s Board of Directors and staff have adopted (with permission) the Association for Fundraising Professional’s Donor Bill of Rights and adheres to all tenets within this document. We do not share our donor lists, email lists or contact information with any outside organizations.
