Director of Finance & Human Resources
Caroline Howard holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In her role as Director of Finance & HR, Caroline is responsible for overseeing the Club’s financial management and payroll and human-resources systems, increasing efficiency, improving processes, reporting and budgeting, and strategic planning for the department in support of the organization and its mission. Prior to joining the Club team, Caroline gained extensive experience in senior level financial management positions and, for more than 20 years, provided controller-level services to small businesses as an independent contractor. Additionally, she previously led training and technical support in the use of small-business accounting software applications. Caroline has completed Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Advanced Leadership Program, and was named Caroline 2018 Support Professional of the Year by The Yankee Chapter of the Association of Boys & Girls Club Professionals.
When Caroline is not at the Club, you can find her reading or writing, with a novel and a novella series in progress. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her working in her garden, relaxing and seeing the seasonal variety in bloom. She also enjoys spending time with her family and their 2 dogs, connecting with friends, and spending time in the White Mountains region in the winter. Caroline stays at the Club because she is energized knowing that what she does, however small, supports something that is making a positive impact in so many young lives. She was ready for a change, wanting to be part of a team and when she saw the position with the Club she knew it was what she wanted. Every day she’s amazed by all the good that happens within the Club and by the passion and commitment of the staff team.
